NTT DATA Spotlighted for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion by Project Unity and Women in IT Awards

PLANO, TX – July 20, 2022 – NTT DATA, a global digital business and IT services leader, was nominated for multiple diversity and inclusion awards that celebrate achievements of individuals and the company. Project Unity, a collaborative organization dedicated to uplifting organizations in their journeys to promoting diverse workplaces, chose NTT DATA to receive a corporate activist award. Additionally, Barry Shurkey, Chief Information Officer of NTT DATA Services and NTT DATA are shortlisted by the Women in IT USA Awards for two awards to be announced in September 2022.

Now in their fifth year, the Women in IT Awards and series are presented by DiversityQ in association with Information Age. The awards have recognized and celebrated over 1,000 women, allies, and organizations across the USA for their outstanding contribution to the technology industry.

At Project Unity’s “Together We Sing” musical event in Dallas on June 15, NTT DATA Services was recognized with the Corporate Unity Award for Activists for showing outstanding support for racial unity, inclusion, social justice and health efforts in the community and workplace.

The Women in IT Awards 2022 revealed Barry Shurkey as a nominee for Ally of the Year, an honor bestowed upon an individual who has elevated diversity efforts at their organization as a senior figure. NTT DATA was also nominated for the DEI Initiative of the Year Award for executing and elevating a hiring process that highlights underrepresented talent at their organization. Official results of the Women in IT Awards will be announced September 2022.
